Frequently Asked Questions

What is pure water?

Water is classified according to the content of its TDS which stands for Total Dissolved Solids, measured in ppm(parts per million). TDS refers to the organic and inorganic matter dissolved in water, including things such calcium, magnesium, potassium etc. Tap water depending on where you live has a TDS ranging from 150 to 350ppm where as pure water has a TDS of 0ppm. To get pure water we must process Tap water via a commercial filteration system, demineralising the water to achieve a TDS of 0 ppm, meaning it has nothing in it apart from H2O (hydrogen and oxygen) at it purist form.

How does the pure water Scrubwash compare to the conventional window cleaning?

Overall it guarantees better results for your entire window that last longer.

The first reason being, the conventional method uses a solution consisting of tap water and washing-up liquid. It is a fact that tap water has a high TDS, meaning it has a high number of dissolved impurities which will remain on the surface of the glass. Due to the nature of these impurities and the chemicals in the washing-up liquid, together they will attract atmospheric dirt to the window, requiring them to cleaned more often. Pure water has the opposite effect.

Secondly, the Scrubwash method involves using a brush, this means we can clean not just the glass but also the window sill and frame too.

What does high reach cleaning mean for me?

Legislation now limits the use of ladders as temporary workstations. The law states that ladders should only be used when all viable safer alternatives have been considered. The high reach systems are seen as a safer alternative allowing work to be completed safely from the ground.

Reduced disturbance. Although we do our best to keep disturbance to a minimum, ladder use causes some inevitable disturbance. eg rattling of the metal ladders, dents in your lawn etc. These problems are avoided with the use of high reach poles.

Increased privacy. Something many householders appreciate is that by using high reach poles instead of ladders, there is no more need to worry about the window cleaner suddenly appearing at the bedroom window. No more running around tidying up or shutting the curtains!

Improved access. With ease we can now reach previously inaccessible aspects of your property such as third floor windows, conservatory roofs, windows above the conservatory or sloping roofs and other windows that would be difficult and unsafe reach with ladders.

Added services. It is now possible for us to clean many more external features of your property, such as frames, uPVC, cladding, canopies, guttering, fascias, etc.

Will my windows be perfectly clean after your first visit?

Most of the time we will be able to achieve this. However if your window was previously cleaned via the conventional method, then the answer is possibly not. The reason being, the conventional method used by the previous window cleaner involved the use of a cheap inferior solution similar to domestic washing-up liquid that leaves behind stubborn chemical deposits.

Although the complete window will be alot cleaner than before, unfortunately some stubborn chemical deposits may prove difficult to remove. Rest assured, following a second visit this will not be an issue.

The problem with using window cleaning solutions which are not designed specifically for cleaning your windows is that they can leave your windows looking very clean just after they have been cleaned but they get dirty very quickly due to the chemicals inside them making your windows slightly sticky and attracting dirt to your windows. That's why only 100% pure water should be used on windows, guaranteeing noticeably better cleaning results that last longer than the manual conventional window cleaning.

Do you need access to my water supply?

Most of the cleaning services we provide require the use of pure water. Our vehicles are equipped with a tank capable of carrying 1000 litres, so we have all the pure water we need.

Can you clean my windows, solar panels etc when its raining?

It will not be a problem cleaning with pure water in light to moderate rainfall. Our pure water cleaning will still give effective spot free results. Rain water in the UK has an avarrage TDS of 25ppm which unlike tap water is very low and therefore will not effect the final result.

The only time we will not be be able to come out to your property is when there is sudden heavy rainfall, if this is the case the service man will patiently wait in the van until the rain subsides or will revisit when possible. Although we are very committed to providing a quality service, as part of our duty of care we do not think it is fair to expect our employees to be working in the worst of weathers.
